Values and Ethics
How this show works
Where the opinions come from, how the ads get placed, and what happens when I get something wrong.
Editorial Independence
This is a one person show. I write it, I record it, I say what I actually think. Nobody reviews it before it goes out and nobody gets a say in what I cover.
If something is broken, I'll say it's broken. If something is genuinely good, I'll say that too. I'm not trying to sell you optimism and I'm not trying to sell you doom either. Just what I actually see.
Not My Employer's Opinion
Everything on this show, the social channels, and the website is mine alone. It doesn't represent the views of my employer, any partner organizations, or any affiliates. If you're looking for an official statement from any organization I'm connected to, this isn't it.
Advertising
I don't take sponsors. I don't pick advertisers and I don't write ad copy for anyone. The ads you hear are placed automatically through RSS.com's paid ad program, two pre-roll and two post-roll, occasionally a mid-roll if the episode runs long.
I've blocked several categories outright: gambling and casino, pregnancy, sexuality, politics, non-standard content, and illegal content. Beyond that, I don't see the ads before they run and I don't endorse them. They're not me talking.
If you'd rather not hear ads at all, you can subscribe on Apple Podcasts for ad-free episodes. That, plus Buy Me A Coffee at tylerwoodward.me, is how the show stays funded.
Corrections
I get things wrong sometimes. When I do, I'll correct it, on the show or on the site, plainly, no burying it. I'd rather admit I missed something than pretend I didn't.
AI
I use AI tools in putting this show together, mainly for research and drafting help. I don't let a tool write my opinions for me. The takes, the anecdotes, the actual point of view, that's mine. If a tool helped me get there faster, fine, but it didn't decide what I think.
Interviews and Guests
I don't do interviews and I don't book guests, on either side. This is a solo show and that's on purpose. If you're hoping to pitch yourself as a guest or book me for one, I appreciate it, but the answer's no.
Fact-Checking
When I state something as fact, a number, a date, a claim about a company, I try to verify it first. If I couldn't confirm something and I'm still talking about it, I'll say so on the show instead of pretending I know for sure.
Questions about any of this, you can reach me through tylerwoodward.me.
